Home Inspector Reviews

The best way to tell you about our inspectors is to let our clients speak for us. Here are a few of their more wordy reviews.

HomeXam provides not only knowledgeable and thorough home inspectors, they are also caring and conscientious service providers. We enlisted them twice this summer in our quest to purchase our first home. After the inspection of the first house, they diplomatically alerted us to some serious latent defects in the house, which would have cost us tens of thousands of dollars to address. After they inspected a different house for us today, however, their manner—in addition to their comments–conveyed their confidence and delight in the quality of the house. They were also clearly pleased that their initial report saved us from a bad purchase and, by extension, led us to a great one. Competent, credible, and caring—what more can you ask a home inspector to be? We recommend them most highly.
David and Tobi K.

Very resourceful and competent inspectors, who took the time to explain all relevant issues and point out any matters that potentially needed to be addressed. I really appreciated the useful tips and suggestions that were offered. Sincere thanks for your time and patience. Your conscientious approach to the inspection process was quite evident.

Experience and care go a long way. HomeXam set expectations well, walked through every step, covered every detail and soothed every worry. Couldn’t be more pleased, and will definitely recommend. Sold by the experience and pedigree, and they delivered.

Our Inspectors

Our inspectors have the right education, professionalism and residential construction experience. Having the skills to build things ourselves has served our clients well. Our observations are offered in a calm and consultative manner. There is no need to be an alarmist about the defects we will find as we go through the home. Most often they are minor and easily addressed. When more significant defects are discovered, we will have the patience for your questions and offer non-technical explanations. We enjoy working with clients to help them gain a better understanding of their new homes and we look forward to working with you.

Robert Cornish

Inspecting Ice and Water ShieldRobert has always had a keen interest in residential construction. He grew up in a family that built and renovated several properties. As a teenager, he was framing additions, soldering copper pipes and wiring receptacles. In fact, he lives in a home that he built himself.

After a successful career in information systems, he worked through the Home Inspector program at Algonquin College and various other related courses to meet the qualifications of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors. Robert was also fortunate to be mentored by inspectors with decades of experience. Working with them took him from million dollar homes in the city to country farmhouses with dirt cellar floors and plenty in between. At HomeXam, he draws on this background and understanding when searching your potential new home for issues.

Robert has several years of inspection experience. He has earned both The Ontario Association of Home Inspectors’ and American Society of Home Inspectors’ highest designations. He gives back to the industry through his participation as an instructor and his contribution to the management of his professional associations.
